November / December 2006 Bike of the Month:
Skip Chernoff's Triumph Cafe Racer

Hey guy's I'll keep this short and sweet. My Triumph Cafe racer was built from a basketcase 69 hardtail chopper.I totally rebuilt and modified the 650 engine. The parts for the frame, tinwear, tank, front end were all swap meet purchases. Custom fabricated parts include, the exhaust system, oil tank, battery, tool kit mounts. The rear sets were home made. I built and trued the alloy wheels.A local auto body shop did the paint work, and the seat was made on an original "Thruxton "seat pan.

The guages ,and guage mount were Ebay and mail order items.I did all of the wiring from my own diagrams. The project took about 3 years to complete.I'm proud to say that I've won about a dozen trophies with it during the last year, including First Place and Best of Show at some of the most pretigious events. The best trophy is a ride on this classic example of British Iron.
